Bay Garnett and Kira Jolliffe really show us that the most stylish thing in the world is inside each and everyone of us, a spirit. Yeah, some spirits need a bit more refining than others but this book helps sort that out!
Building on the success of thier superfab fanzine Cheap Date they have put together a pretty incredible book that offers different points of view on style by some of the greats, from Miss Piggy to Anita Pallenberg from Karl Lagerfeld to Jayne County it’s in there! A Cheap Date Guide To Style is about individuality and about discoveries, not just those in vintage shops but the ones inside oursleves.

So, the three of them are quite average women in a small town to which the devil comes.
One by one they encounter him and get seduced, and precisely at that point, that transition between normal and passionate
- that’s when the big hair comes into the picture, it’s as if they were letting go of themselves and stepping into this new magic crazy life! And also, let’s not forget that we’re still in the 80′s!

As if dark magick, superficial seductions and general witchery weren’t enough already!
And well while on the subject of magick and light-weight outfits – I believe we can all agree that summer is slowly getting here, can’t we?
This is exactly what the old pagan witches agreed upon,
‘the beginning of summer’ is celebrated the 1st of May or around the 5th of May in the northern hemisphere.

To celebrate Beltane yourself, for example, is to  do a little journey to a forest, or garden, pluck flowers and watch the sunrise, have a real feast in the spirit of lightful May, or bath your face in the morning dew as May Day morning customs would have it ‘to retain your youthful beauty’.

Also, another way of welcoming summer is to cast away all those unflattering, uninspiring piles of clothes we put on to survive the cold and then GO GET SOME COLOR!

Are your shirts political?
No, politics are boring!

Do any celebrities dig your shirts?
I hope the cool ones do, it’s great press. (But cool people in cool
places that are not on T.V. or in magazines or celebrities that wear
my shirts is somehow more gratifying.)

Why T-Shirts?
I like the idea of doing shirts and apparel because it was a way to
get my drawings and graphic design out circulating with casual
movement in public view, without having to be in a gallery to be seen.

How much longer on average do people wearing your shirt have sex for?
Lol. How much more often do they get laid wearing my shirt is the
real question!

You have been involved in the New York fashion and graffiti scene
since the early 90′s, do you feel that this is a collaboration of
those two different worlds coming together shaping your vision for this
project.
Yes. I think you answered your own question with that one.

Is it true that your mother used to enter you in break dance
competitions when you were a kid?
We used to go every Saturday afternoon to a place called 2002 out on
long Island that scene was the craze back in the day. With MC,
Breaking, Popping, and Up Rocking battles non-stop. Other than that
only a few special events at other locations.

Why do your shirts attract all types of creative people, including
hipsters , musicians, princes, baronesses, models, stylists, and the
like?
Well, I hope it would be because those are the people with good taste.
